Scripted Window ERROR in Shopping Cart

Postby Kelvin » Wed Feb 16, 2011 1:14 pm

We just upgraded to Pro V10 sp2, and since that upgrade shoppers are receiving the follow error when clicking on "continue checkout":

This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows...

After testing a variety of scenarios, it appears to only happen when the shipping zip code is left blank prior to clicking the checkout button, but it confusing a ton of customers.

We are testing with IE8, Paypal is activated in checkout as well.

A javascript popup will be displayed if the shopper does not enter a zipcode and clicks the checkout button. In the popup is a field that they fill in the zipcode and it is placed in the zipcode field on the shopping cart screen.

If they have their browser configure to prompt on all javascript requests I guess they would probably get the warning. Trying to make the checkout process smooth for most users may lead to issues for those that are overly secure on their browser settings. IE8 is also notorious for not playing nice with web pages. You might try editing your template and forcing IE browsers to revert to the IE7 compatibility mode. Do a google search for "ie8 compatibility mode" and you should find ways to do that.
