how do you put a euro symbol in the product creation sectio

Postby Vernontnh » Sun Jan 09, 2011 7:37 am

I need to be able to have the Euro symbol, instead of the $ sign.

How does one do this in Shopsite? option+shift+2 on a mac does not work. &euro also does not work. I do not want to settle for EUR instead of the actual sign. Is there a way to get this to work?

Thanks,

See http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_entities.asp for a description of the way to display the Euro symbol in html pages.
€ euro € €

Depending on where in your ShopSite store you want it to display you might need to use different methods.

Thanks Jim:

I know in the optional pull-down menu for selecting size, color, etc, the ones with the semi-colons won't work because shopsite reads it as the end what to display...for instance, if I want to change',

(+$1), +1

to:

(+€1) +1

what happens is the euro symbol does show up, but nothing else does.

Ok, I have figured out a way that you can do this if you are using the Advanced Order Option added in ShopSite 10sp2.

If you use the normal method in the backoffice to create the Advanced Options it won't work correctly because it breaks the option at the ; like you are seeing happen. However if you use the Add Row after you have enabled the Advanced option feature then you can enter the € into the input box for the option name and then fill out the other fields as needed.

I also tried a tab delimited upload which also worked. I had to manually edit the text file I saved from my spreadsheet application and fix the € text because it was corrupted when it was exported.

I logged a bug to see if we can get this fixed for a future version.
