Save Cart Function

Postby mobilchuckje » Fri Dec 10, 2010 12:34 pm

Is there a Save Cart function available? This would be a handy function for the Customer Registration module, but I haven't found any solutions in my searching. Are there any addons/plug-ins available that I can use on my current hosting server?

Thank you,
chuck.

There is no "save cart" function however, a cookie is create of the order so when the shopper comes back their order will be remembered. There is also a setting on Commerce Setup > Order System ?Shopping Cart called "Keep unfinished shopping carts:" The default value is 7 days but you can change it to the length of time you want the shopper to be able to come back to the same cart. (This is a Pro store feature, Manager and Starter level stores are set to 7days). Since the order is linked to a shopper by a cookie in the shoppers browser they need to use the same computer to return to their cart.

Thanks for the feedback. My client is looking for a solution that moves beyond the cookie and single-computer roadblock. We have customers who'd like to be able to continue with a cart from anywhere. I understand now that this may not be readily available.

If anyone has info on other solutions, I'd like to investigate them.

Thanks,
chuck.
