SSL Woes

Postby stslivealoha » Fri Dec 03, 2010 5:38 am

Aloha....

I just added ssl to my site. I have entered the following in the hosting service back office.

Just wanted to find out what i did wrong since customers can no longer sign-in or register. I get a 404 error. It seems everything else is okay...but I can't really check since i can't generate a dummy order!

www.bigmanhawaii.com

Shopping Cart secure URL: https://bigmanhawaii.com/cgi-bin/sc
Secure Store URL: https://bigmanhawaii.com

ShopSite secure URL: https://bigmanhawaii.com/ss
ShopSite Images secure URL: https://bigmanhawaii.com/shopsite-images

ID:bigmanha
Store URL: http://www.bigmanhawaii.com
ShopSite Images URL:http://www.bigmanhawaii.com/shopsite-images
Merchant CGIs URL: http://www.bigmanhawaii.com/ss
Shopping Cart CGIs URL: http://www.bigmanhawaii.com/sc

Please help!!!! Mahalo....

You should not have the cgi-bin in the secure urls. It should be exactly the same as the non-secure urls except have https: instead of http:

Shopping Cart secure URL: https://bigmanhawaii.com/sc

The others look like they are correct.

Jim-

Mahalo! yes that corrected the issue! I really don't understand why Shopsite in their help page does not list the common or default url! In fact the help page's one example specifically had the /cgi-bin...reference to the shopping cart url.

Anyways....thanks a lot!

Aloha!

i still have an issue with the page width size of the "More Info" pages. Still trying to find out what file so i can edit the page width size to 65% like the other pages.??? I guess i should start a new topic on this...

Actually, it is probably more common to have ShopSite's 'ss' and 'sc' directories within a cgi-bin than not.

ahhh....

as a someone new to all this...my shopsite installation i believed was all configured with default settings, so i guess i was looking for

https://www.mysite.com/whatever the correct path for the urls needed to update shopsite in using SSL.

It just was a bit frustrating....especially for someone with lack of experience....

Again mahalo!
