custom shopping cart template question..

I created and uploaded a custom shopping cart template into Shopsite 7.1. I
used the html code from the sc_default template and added it my template.
When i preview the template from ShopSite it works fine (background & images
load properly). When testing the custom shopping cart template from our demo
web site, the shopping cart page loads properly. However when i hit the
checkout button, the following shipping page does not load properly. The
background & images do not appear on the page (they're x'ed out). Any ideas
on why this Shipping page will not load properly?

The first screen of the shopping cart is accessed from a non-secure url
(http://) so the images are being accessed properly from the store's
media directory. The shipping screen is normally accessed from a secure
url (https://) so any images on that page must be acessible from the
secure url. You need to make sure that the secure url for your images
points to the same location as the non-secure url.

Jim - I am having the same problem that this user described in this (old) posting. Background image works great on cart page (http), but not on shopping page (https). My question: the background image used in my cart, shipping and thank you pages is currently uploaded to the "media" directory within my ShopSite account. How do I point to the background image from the cart/shipping/thank-you template and/or INCLUDE file to the same location where it is accessible by both http and https pages?

Another item not showing properly between Cart and Shipping pages are the changes to the price/item table. In my cart page it is beautifully centered (I edited the css to change table width). On the shipping page the table is aligned to the right of the page. Any insights?

You need to have your host configure your server so the secure (https) and non-secure (http) settings are pointing to the same place. If you have your own domain and secure certificate you should be able to go to any page in your site, including viewing images, using the same url but just changing the http to https. If you are using a shared secure certificate then the urls will probalby be different but you should still be able to go to some url and get the pages/ images to all display using either secure or non secure urls. So you need to bring this to the attention of your host and have them fix it.

My site is currently hosted with FatCow. I tested according to what you described, and I am fully able to go to any page on my site (including viewing images) using the same URL and changing from http to https - and everything shows up fine, except the shipping and thank you pages. So, it looks like FatCow's domain and secure certificate settings might be correct.

Note: I also ran a 'reverse test'. Specifically, I went to the shopping page (where the background image currently does not show up) and changed the URL from https to http. The page loaded, but the background still did not show up. The issue persists.

I'm at a loss... and hoping you can help.

A url to the pages with the problem would be helpful. Also what urls are specified on Preferences >Hosting services for both the secure and non-secure urls (there should be 8 of them). Please send them in a private message to me.
