Continue Shopping and Empty Cart button failing

Postby netcityshops » Tue Dec 22, 2009 3:14 pm

On just one of our shopsite carts when one clicks either the Continue Shopping or Empty Cart buttons, the server returns a page that says
The link has moved <a href="">here</a>.

For the life of me I can't figure out what I've messed up. I've checked Preferences->Hosting Service and it looks just like all our other carts

the access log says
"POST /cgi-bin/sc/order.cgi HTTP/1.1" 302 40 "http://www.mmmm.com/cgi-bin/sc/order.cgi"

while other websites say
"POST /cgi-bin/sc/order.cgi HTTP/1.1" 302 69 "http://www.mmmm.com/cgi-bin/sc/order.cgi?storeid=*2222222222222222222222&function=show&__utma=etc"

Other than that, the cart works just fine.

Any suggestions?

How do you get to the shopping cart? I don't see any products with add to cart buttons on your store.

Well, actually I was disguising it for some reason:

There is no value in the "prevlocation" part of the form. Is your server or firewall blocking that kind of information?

www.walldecorshops.com runs on the same apache server as www.bikerackshops.com yet the Continue Shopping and Empty Cart buttons behave in different ways.

What do you have set on Commerce Setup > Order System > Shopping cart > Return To Shopping Button: in each store?

"Return the user to last page ordered from"

Even if that was set wrong, it shouldn't stop the "Empty Cart" button from working.

The shopping cart was moved from one directory to another and my only thought is that the .aa files were set incorrectly but I can't find anything obviously wrong in them.

If the store was moved then it is possible that the .aa files were not correctly created on the new server. If it is a Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris server there should be a <StoreID>.aa file in the store's ss cgi directory that is an actual file. In the sc directory there should be a symlink to the <StoreID>.aa file in the ss directory. If both of the files are actual files then the Shopping cart will be reading from a file that never gets updated from the backoffice o the store but it will look like it is because in the backoffice you will be reading the data from the one in the ss directory.

Yeah, I was aware of the symbolic links when I moved it and yes, I straightened them out. One also has to edit the .aa file to fix the moved directories and I also did that.

A good question would be: What piece(s) of information is shopsite using to build the link for the Continue Shopping and "Empty Cart" buttons?

the settings come from a file sbdata.aa in the store's data directory. The tokens involved are
sb_return: Which indicates if the top or bottom radio button is selected on the Commerce Setup > Order System > Shopping Cart > Return To Shopping Button:

sb_return_url: which contains the url if you specified one in the Return to this URL: field.

If the top button is selected then the "Return the user to last page ordered from." value is based on the prevlocation part of the html submit. Otherwise the return will be to the url specified.

Did you ever find a solution for this....

We are having the exact same problem on Adultfootedpjs.com

It's somewhat intermittent but still happening often and exactly as you have described.
