retrieving deleted order

Postby Kevin » Tue Oct 08, 2002 12:16 pm

I am missing an order - I believe it was printed, deleted, then the printed
copy lost. Is there a way to retrieve a deleted order form ShopSite logs?
I seem to remember Loren addressing this, but I cannot find the post.

It may be possible to retrieve it if it is less than 5 days since the order was
placed (or actually 5 days since you first checked your orders after the order
was placed). Look in the 'ip' subdirectory of your ShopSite Data Directory and
see if the file iorder.[the order number].done exists. If it does, rename it to
iorder.[the order number].new and then go check your orders again and the order
should be pulled into the main orders database again and show in your list of
orders.

Loren,

Thanks, but the only file in the directory was an order received today - the
lost order was received early yesterday morning. I appreciate your quick
response. Any other possibilities?

Kevin,

If the order was received yesterday morning and the iorder file is not in the ip
directory, then it was not deleted by ShopSite. It should be there. Are there
ANY files with that order number there? Did you receive the email receipt from
the order?

Loren,

There is a file istats.3058.new, and when I view the file it lists three
inventory items. That is all that is in the ip directory related to the
order number.. There is only one iorder.[ordernumber].done file, although I
have received probably 8 or 9 orders in the last 5 days. I don't
specifically remember getting an email notice, but I probably did.
Unfortunately, I don't normally keep copies of the order notices.
