On Registered User Upload

We want to bulk upload users of the site from another database. However, how do we set the default password for the customer?

If you download the customer database only the basic customer information will be downloaded. The password field is not downloaded for security reasons. However, if you would like to upload a database, you can have a password column in your database to either change a customers' passwords or to set default ones.
