IE8 Compatability View

Does anyone know if you can turn of IE8 Compatability View when your document loads into someones browsers.

We are tired of fielding calls from customers who think the site will not display properly, but have no clue that IE8 has capability and that they have it turned on.

I did a web search for "force ie 8 compatibility" and got lots of hits.
http://blog.lroot.com/articles/the-ie7- ... ring-mode/
says to add the meta tag
Code: Select all
 <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7">
and another site says it has to be before any css on the page.

There were also mentions of how to do it on the webserver if you have that level of access on your store.
