View Orders by Date

Postby Beauty Cafe » Tue Aug 20, 2002 5:27 pm

Just wondering if there is a way to set it up so that you can find orders by
a specific date. I am currently trying to find an order from July 30th and
am having to skim through all my orders and am not having much luck.

Get StoneEdge Order Manager
and you can find orders by at least
20 different ways including date.

I agree, get Stone Edge. Then you can delete all the paid orders from the
site. All the info you need will be in Order Manager.

I just checked this out...looks very good. Now do you use this instead of
say Quickbooks or in addition to it. I rely on Quickbooks for all my
accounting needs.

From the Stone Edge website:

"The Order Manager is not an accounting program, although it does include
some accounting functions. Likewise, QuickBooks and other accounting
programs were not designed for the needs of ecommerce stores. QuickBooks
also has limits on the number of invoices (10,000), customers (10,000),
inventory items (14,500), etc. you can have. See QuickBooks specifications.
We have one user that recently got to over 150,000 orders in the program,
before we split it up and archived some of his older data!

Sometimes it pays to buy a tool that is designed for the specific job that
you need done. We recommend using the Order Manager to maintain and manage
your detailed information: customers, orders, transactions, inventory, etc.
Then use QuickBooks or another accounting program for your general ledger,
payroll, etc.

Periodically, and that can be daily, weekly, monthly, etc., use the Order
Manager to print an Accounting Summary report. That will give you totals for
Gross Sales, Sales Tax, Shipping Charges, Other Charges, Discounts, Returns
& Exchanges and Cost for whatever range of dates you selected. You can then
manually enter those totals into QuickBooks or any other accounting program
as summary numbers for the period. That way you get the best of both
worlds!"

P.S. We are also starting to work on integrating the Order Manager with
QuickBooks. The first step of that will be in the next release, due out in a
couple of weeks. It will let you export data to QuickBooks when you receive
inventory into the Order Manager using its Purchase Order system.

We use Quickbooks Pro which has a scan feature. Check to see if you have this.
Go to Edit, then Find. A filter form will come up. Just choose date and enter
the dates that you want. Then click on the Find button.
