Duplicate Items In Shopsite...?

I was just wondering if there were any known bugs with items duplicating
themselves in Shopsite, or any way of that happening...

We have TONS of duplicate items for some reason and would like to know where
they came from. Could they be the program or is it just the people before
us screwed up when they originally set up Shopsite?

One way to get duplicate items is to slightly change the name of the
product. An upload doesn't go by the sku rather it usually goes by the
name.

file, could result in the duplicate products.
