Using Shopsite Pro 10 r7. We have a new setting of shipping options and have no idea what they are. I load a shopping cart with several items, say a book, a video, and a hat. In shipping options I've got Priority Mail (USPS) $7.50 and then way down at the bottom of the scrollable list I've got Priority Mail® $16.85.

We have no idea why this is more expensive or what we're supposed to do differently when shipping the product to justify doubling the price.

Anyone?

Check what shipping options you have enabled.

The ones with the (R) sound like real-time USPS rates from that module. They would be actual rates from the USPS based on the weight of the items.

But the FIRST rate is the one that represents the accurate pricing. The one with the ® symbol is way too high.

Under USPS Domestic Services I've got everything except Express Mail Hold For Delivery

I think it's a USPS one. USPS2.cgi

A remnant from before shipping was integrated into ShopSite, maybe? Don't exactly know. It's just always been there.

It sounds like the Lexiconn Priority Mail shipping add-on. If you're using the real-time USPS rates built into the newer version of Shopsite, you should disable it.

I disabled it.

That rearranged the options, but they're all still there.

Anything else I can try?

Still have two Parcel Post, Priority, and Express Mail options under shipping options. The series that have (USPS) behind the name reflect accurate pricing. The group that has the ® symbol at the end of each is nearly double the price of their counterparts.

Anyone?

Under:
Commerce Setup -> Shipping

uncheck the "U.S. Postal Service" option so that only the custom add-on is checked. See if that helps. The registered trademark options are coming from ShopSite's built-in USPS realtime rates.

You'll have to check your other shipping options such as Shipping by weight, shipping by currency, etc...

I had disabled the custom shipping add-on, but for some reason it didn't stay disabled. Now I've REALLY disabled it.

It got rid of the (USPS) version of the shipping options. Unfortunately, the ones that remain are twice as expensive as they should be.

That is a ShopSite issue, isn't it?

If we can't get this to work I'll definitely go back to the custom add-on, scrapping the ShopSite defined USPS.

Not sure why the rates would be too high. They should be direct from the USPS. Are you sure the item weights are correct and you don't have some sort of minimum weight set in the shipping config?
