Upgrade from 6.0 to 6.1 not working properly

Postby Mario » Fri Jul 26, 2002 10:48 pm

Hey. Was using Shopsite SC Pro 6.0.1, then upgraded to Shopsite SC Pro 6.1. On a Linux 6.1 box. Install went fine. I then proceeded to apply the patches for 6.1. My store is working except for the following:

When a customer tries to place an item with 0 inventory into their cart, they are given an "Internal Server Error" instead of my custom page that tells them the item is out of stock (page created via Preferences ---> Inventory Tracking.

Anybody know what's going on? The reason that I am posting here instead of calling my host (Interland), is because they dropped all support for ShopSite.

Thanks in advance,

Mario

What is the filesize of the thankyou.cgi in the shopping cart cgi
directory?
How long ago did you get it?
What about the filesize of the libsscommon.so.1 in the backoffice cgi
directory?
Is the libsscommon.so.1 in the shopping cart directory still a symlink
to the real file in the backoffice directory?

What is the filesize of the thankyou.cgi in the shopping cart cgi
directory?

thankyou.cgi is 1.19 MB

How long ago did you get it?

Updated the patches on Friday night July 26, 2002

What about the filesize of the libsscommon.so.1 in the backoffice cgi
directory?

libsscommon.so.1 is .0.76 MB
was this also supposed to be uploaded in ASCII? (I uploaded it in ASCII)

Is the libsscommon.so.1 in the shopping cart directory still a symlink
to the real file in the backoffice directory?

Yes it is.

-Loren

Any idea what the problem is based on my responses?

Thanks for the help Loren!

Mario,

All ShopSite files should always be transferred in Binary, cgis
included.

I would need exact file size, down to the byte level, to be able to tell
if these files are the right size.

Hmmm, that looks like the right size for that as well. I am out of
questions.

Oh, check the date and filesize of the 'ShopSiteMsg.cat' file that should be found
in the ss/nls/en-US/ directory. Also look at the contents of the VERSION file in
that same directory.
