html editor will not open following site re-install

Hi.

I have had to reinstall a site but the html editor has stopped working.

(The installation program did warn me that the site already existed and that I would loose it)

I had to change the install paths to the CGI`s for the re-install and wonder if that has something to do with it.

Everything else is working fine.

I have tried switching it on and off and created a new toolbar.

The editor is working ok in our other 2 sites.

Just an update.

I compared the cgi SS folder with our other sites, and these files are missing in the SS folder of the site that is causing a prolem.

Those 'missing' files have nothing to do with the HTML Editor, and they are 'missing' on a new v10 install because they are not installed (or at least not installed in the ss directory) in v10, they are from older versions.

I have deleted all the existing files that I could ( I could not delete the `LINK`files/folders) and re-installed again from scratch, creating new directories.

The editor is now working.

I suspect some of the old folders and links within those folders must have been causing a problem.

I have SS 10.2, new clean installation. Suddenly the HTML editor link is not working. I have disabled and re-enabled the HTML editor feature, forced some dummy changes like undo level, but nothing makes it wake up again.

I really need this feature!

I tried chrome, MSIE, Firefox, none of them work.

Any ideas of things to try?

Are you able to see the [ editor ] link when you turn on the HTML Editor feature? If you are able to see the link, what happens if you try to click on it? Are there any errors listed?

Typically, if the HTML editor is not displaying, it is due to an incorrect Secure Images URL under Preferences > Hosting Service.

Yes I can see the link, and it is underlined exactly as when it worked.

But it is "dead", nothing happens when it is clicked.

I will check that setting on hosting service this evening, I'll let you know if it worked.

I verified that the shopsite image folder on disk matched the setting in hosting preferences.

I tried without the SSL for Merchant pages checkbox also, to no avail. Perhaps folder security issue?

Verio is looking into it, I will see what they come up with.
