HELP! --- directory permissions

HI,

We have been using Shopsite for over a year as a payment gateway.

We write our own pages and use the Shopsite Order Anywhere feature to generate the HTML behind our shopping cart buttons.

We placed all the product and content pages in the **.com/public_html/store directory. This has always worked well but now, the /store directory is hidden and we cannot access it with our FTP client.

Our service provider says that Shopsite is causing this to happen and they don't know what to do. How can we fix this?? Really need to know asap.

FTP access has nothing to do with ShopSite that is configured on the server by your host. If you need to have ftp access to your store's output directory then your host needs to set the permissions so that your ftp user and the user the webserver is running as both have permission to access the directory. Talk to your host about this.

Hi,

It seems that my hosting company is totally befuddled by the request to change the permissions for the output directory so that I can FTP to it.

So far, they have delivered the worst tech support service I have ever encountered.

I need to explain to them how to change the permission for this directory. How does this need to be done??

Have them try:
chmod 777 "store_output_directory"

It should be pretty easy to set.
