Katrina! Need to Ask You About Custom Page Templates

Postby Cheryl » Sat Jul 28, 2001 8:13 am

Hi, Katrina

Since I know you use custom page and product templates throughout your
website, I'd like to ask you a question.

I want to create a custom template for the MORE INFO page of each of my
products. So, that everything on the page looks similar as you go from
product to product except for specific product information (price,
description, sku, etc). It doesn't look like I can create a custom
*template* but instead a custom *page* (you know, you have to upload
custom pages to the /smarthtml directory on the server). Am I correct?

I was surfing your site and noticed you are doing what I am wanting to
do. When I click on "view larger image" for a particular product on
your site, I am taken to a "blown up" version of that product (bigger
picture, full description, price, add to basket button). Did you create
these "blown up" pages by creating custom *templates* or by using custom
*pages*?

Thanks in adance for the insight!

Cheryl,

The More Info Page 'template' is part of the product template. You can
revisit the help and look at the sample product template to see how it
is done.

Loren,

That was it! Right below my nose! I saw the code before but didn't really
understand how it was used or integrated. But, now I do and it works great.
Thanks again, Loren! Katrina, you can ignore my question. Loren obviously
answered it. :)
