Target page after Ordering from Search Results page?

How can we control where the focus is AFTER ordering an item from a Search Results Page?

If we do a Search, the results are displayed on the Search Results page per the active search page template. If we then click on [Order] to add one of the items on the Search Results page to the cart, the item faithfully ends up in the shopping cart as expected. However, after adding the item to the cart, the focus (target) shifts and the page refreshes back to the index page for the store.

We would like the page to refresh back to the Search Results page that the item was ordered from.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Commerce Setup > Order System > Shopping Cart > Return To Shopping Button: can be set to return to the Last page ordered from or a specific URL.

Jim... thanks for your reply and assistance.

The difficulty is with ordering from search results initiated from a URL based search.cgi string when the shopper elects to NOT visit the shopping cart after each item is ordered. The shopper therefore does not see the "continue shopping" link on the shopping cart and is subject to the target destination defaulted by the system.

Normally, when ordering from a regular page (not a search results page) and not electing to automatically view the shopping cart immediately thereafter, the shopper returns to the page they ordered from. This is an intuitive result and works well.

However, when ordering from a search results page (after firing the search from a URL using the search.cgi string) and not electing to visit the shopping cart immediately thereafter, the shopper is returned to the index page for the store and has to begin shopping all over again. Not intuitive to the shopper and causes confusion.

Can anything be done to resolve this?
