Where to find Default product template?

Postby Nikolaus Gruchot » Fri Jul 12, 2002 6:41 am

Hi,

we are currently using the Default product template for all our products. It
suits our needs just fine. Now there are few minor things that I want to
change. Could anybody tell me, where to look for that template file, so that
I can download a copy, edit it an upload it under a new names as custom
template? I have been looking through the shopsite cgi directories and in
the data directory. Could'nt find it.

Thanx,

The ShopSite templates are built in and un-editable.

I don't know about V6, but I managed to edit the default product template
with V 5... it was a perl script essentially, and it was easy enough to go
in with a text editor and remove the strike through text that my boss
hates... If the default templates in V6 are compiled cgis, however (like
the more-info generator in V 5) then there is nothing you can do with them,
like Loren said.

Pre-v6 the ShopSite templates (even for More Info Pages) were perl, but
modifying them is not supported, and with an upgrade you will lose all
of your modifications. In v6, the templates are compiled into a binary
cgi.
