CGI Error

Post by RedSyntax »

When a customer clicks sign out he receives the following error

CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

Even with the default templates assigned to customer registration. Any one have any clue as to a remedy?

What version of ShopSite do you have? And what operating system is used on the server where it is hosted?

Hi again. Now, we are seeing consistently that this CGI error message is being displayed for actions at:
registration.cgi
AND
/shopsite_sc/sc/productsearch.cgi
Additionally, upon returning product search results page, we clicked on Next (and we also tested it using the numbered page results selection- ie, page 3 of 2417 results)- and then it tries to process, & throws this error:

Error in Form!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're sorry, but there was an error in your form data!
You must specify a valid value for: your storeid .
Please go back and try it again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AND- the cgi are still throwing the "CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. " error message.

QUESTION: we are in test environment, and still have to repoint DNS for this site. So, Shopsite's internal http references are absolute to the domain name. But, until I am able to have that resolve down the servers, could these errors just be the cgi gacking between the Http: and httpS:// loops?
It occured to me that could be possible, but I am still trying to reassure management that we should go to repoint- they are apprehensive unless they see everything perfectly operating in this test environment (understandably). Is that just a pipe dream/wishful thinking?

ok- know that is a lot above. any direction, confirmation, stories/similar experience from anyone out there GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you.
