Suggest a Minimum Quantity but not dictate it.

We sell wholesale lots of small parts. These are usually in "Packs" of 6 or 12 for example. However we do not enforce it, if a good customer wants only 3 out of a pack of 12 we proceed.

We have the pack quantity in our database. I want to default the quantity box to the pack lot quantity (i.e. 12). The Shopsite Minimum Quantity field supports that BUT it forces the quantity thereafter and creates challenges or barriers at checkout. I would like the quantity box to show 12 but allow the buyer to change it to say 3 and have the 3 accepted by the cart without any challenges or barriers thereafter. Sort of a "soft" or "suggested" minimum quantity rather than hard.

Use one of your extra fields to say "Minimum 6 Required" or whatever, then in your template display it if there is something in the field. Leave the minimum field at 0 so you override the error.
