Subproducts

Postby bobthebuilder » Sat Nov 08, 2008 3:11 pm

1. I've already created Products A, B, C, and D. When I create Product E, on the "Edit Product Info" page is there a way I can select Products A, B, C, and D and as being subproducts?

2. If the answer to #1 above is NO, then is there a way to search for Products A, B, C, and D via their SKU numbers at the same time so that I can quickly select them as being subproducts of Product E?

Thanks in advance.

1 No.

2. Depends on the level of ShopSite that you have. If you have Pro then you can do a search for different fields, one of which is sku. Assuming the sku's have something in common you would be able to display them and then assign them. I don't remember if Manager level has the product search or not but I don't believe that it does. Starter definitely does not have that functionality.

I have Pro. I understand that you can search for a product by its SKU. However, is there a way to search for multiple products at the same time (i.e. entering in five different SKU's)? Currently, I have to search for a single product at a time, which is very time consuming.

You can't search for more than one thing at a time. The search can only find things that are similar in some way. Maybe you could put something in one of the extra product fields that you could search on that would be the same for the items that belong together. Of course that would need to be done when the product were created or you would still have to search for them indivitually.
