Hardcopy and Download in same product?

Hi!

I am using the reward system to give users who buy a CD-ROM copy of our product a link to a free download too...but it's not automatically adding itself to their cart. This is leading to a lot of confusion/consternation.

Is there a way that when a person adds a product to a cart, the system can automatically add another product along with it/Aka: automatically give the reward to the customer?

Or, is there a way to create a combo-pack that when you order the pack, you get both products?

You can make a custom multi-product add to cart button for your store page that adds two products to the cart at the same time.

But in this scenario, why not just make it the same product? Why not just set the product type setting for your CD-ROM product to the Download type and select the file to download? As long as you don't check the 'No shipping charge' checkbox for the product, the product will still be included in all shipping calculations, so really the only effect that changing the product type to Download is that then the shopper can then download the file you have associated with the product.
