Yugoslavia

Postby dgray » Fri Sep 19, 2008 1:16 am

I'm using 8.3.1 and I noticed the checkout page country selection includes Yugoslavia, which ceased to exist in 2006. Before I upgrade, can anyone running version 9 please confirm it has Serbia and Montenegro listed instead of Yugoslavia?

Thanks.

In version 9, "Serbia and Montenegro" does exist, as well as Yugoslavia for allowed countries.

The countries shown in the shopping cart are those check on the Commerce Setup > States and Countries screen. In the 9.0 version that I looked at Serbia and Montenegro is listed, (So is Yugoslavia) .

I'm not sure when this change was added but check on the States and Countries screen and see if the Serbia and Montenegro option is there in the 8.3 version but just not checked. If it isn't there then upgrading to 9.0 should add the option so you can enable it and disable the Yugoslavia one.

In version 8.3 "Serbia and Montenegro" is listed as one country but unchecked.

Are you saying they are still listed as one country in version 9?

I don't think that's correct as Serbia and Montenegro split into two separate countries in June 2006. You can remove Yugoslavia, it no longer exists.

I'm getting this from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslavia by the way.

I have logged an enhancement request to fix this for a future release. I'm not sure if it will make it to the next one or not since we are nearing completion of that version.

Note that if you have access to the server you could modify the file countries.dat and make the additions/corrections. The main copy of the file is in the ss/nls/en-US directory and the copy that each store uses is in the store's data directory.

Note that the format and order is important in this file so make a backup copy first and then follow the format for another country that would have similar shipping options

3 letter abbreviation|numeric country code|2 letter country code|country name|[]
shipping options available for the country and if google checkout is allowed#
