One option, although not an inexpensive one, is to use our Custom Site
Search (
http://stoneedge.com/advanced.htm ) which lets you set up the
search just about any way you want: both the fields entered to set up a
search, and the search results. It also lets you include custom fields
(Brand, Manufacturer, UPC Code, Model Year, whatever) in your searches, even
though those fields are not a part of ShopSite.
Jimmy - since you already have the ECom Assembler, the base price of the
Custom Site Search was included in that purchase, so all you would have to
pay for would be whatever customization you need.

My vote goes for Merchant's Choice. I would only want the thumbnail
image and the Name, both which are linked to either the product page
or more information page. Other merchants may want different choices
so options would definitely be preferable than a pre-determined
structure.

It has already been mentioned several times how the search feature
in
ShopSite is lacking in several areas, including both backend and
frontend.
I think the search results are laid out very poorly and should be
revamped
with the next version of ShopSite.
What I mean is that we have products on several pages... but the
product
listing does not give detailed information about products, so why
multiple
links to the same general information?
It would be much easier to just have the name/description link to
the
more-info page alone. Or at least give the option of showing the
pages it
appears on or not.
Also, would it be possible to include the item thumbnail in the
search
results? It would add a LOT of value to the search feature and would
make
viewing the search results much easier.
What does everyone think? What do you guys at ShopSite think about
the
possiblity of these changes actually getting implimented?
Thanks,
Brandon Eley
