View Orders in Shopsite

Most order takers (If not all) use the copy and paste feature on customer names to avoid typos. (Which cost $$'s in shipping address errors).
The address fields are set with spaces before the address lines, so in order to set up invoices properly, all spaces have to be deleted each time.

SET THE ADDRESS FIELD ON THE LEFT SIDE WITHOUT SPACES.

What version of ShopSite are you using? What browser are you using? I do not have that problem in my store which is running ShopSite 9.0.3. I tried it with Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 7.

Maybe I should add that I tried this from the View orders and view packing slip screens in the ShopSite backoffice. Is this where you are doing the copy?

ShopSite® Pro 6.3.3 . I started Shopsite with version 1 many many years ago when they promised all upgrades were free ... not. All the following are Apple/Mac applications. Firefox 2.0.0.11 & Navigator 9.0.0.6 both add spaces before the bill to lines . Safari 3.1.2 once down to the product ordered area puts a line for anything more than a space. For instance even the bottom line with the word Total and the actual amount is 2 lines.

When you cut and paste, are you also copying the 'Bill To:' text? That is the only way I get spaces before the address lines on my computer (Vista), and that is because the computer's clipboard application interprets the <blockquote> tag in between the 'Bill To:' text and the address lines as instructions to tab over or add spaces to the beginning of the 'indented' address lines, even though there are no actual spaces being output by ShopSite there. If I don't copy the 'Bill To:' text, though, on my computer cutting and pasting doesn't result in any spaces.

Netscape Mac 9.0.0.6 - If 1. I copy all text (cmd A), or 2. copy including the "Bill to" text , Or 3. start copy at beginning of cust info BUT extend into pmt type, then the spaces appear before the Bill to and Ship to info.
