Order Options Not Working

Postby GiftSpecialists » Tue Jul 08, 2008 4:26 pm

When I use the Order Option;n feature, the product is still added to the cart.

I have custom templates, but I do not see what I am doing wrong.

To duplicate the problem, go to the URL below and then choose the "Substitute personalized wine" option. If you leave the Order option as "Choose Balloon Style", it should not be able to be added to the cart, but it does.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ;n parameter only prevents the shopper from checking out with that Ordering Option selected, it does not prevent them from adding it to the cart with that selected. For that you would probably need some custom JavaScript on your product HTML page.

I believe that for the ;n to work the shopper must be able to select the option in the shopping cart. Since you have disabled the ability to choose an option in the shopping cart the check for ;n is not done (because the shopper can't select anything different ) and the shopper is able to checkout. Try unchecking the box for "Ordering Options can not be changed" on the Commerce Setup > Order System > Shopping cart screen and see if you can checkout then without making a selection.
