Different On Sale Pricing Per Customer Groups

Postby rippyj » Fri May 02, 2008 10:05 am

I understand that you can assign coupons to customer groups, but what I really want to do is when the customer registers, they can optionally apply to be a contractor.

If we decide to allow them to be a contractor, I want to give them a certain muliplier that wouldn't apply to the normal end user pricing. Is there a way to do this either by setting up different on sale prices and linking them to groups or via another means?

Much thanks in advance for any insight!

No way to do that directly.

You can assign the customer to a group and assign a coupon to that group. When they sign in to the shopping cart the coupon will be entered in their cart and would give them whatever discount it is for.

Another way would be to create a separate set of products with your reduced price that you assign to pages that are password protected. You then give the contractors access to those password protected pages so they can order their products from those pages.

A third way would be to have 2 stores one for regular shoppers and a second for contractors. If you do this you may qualify for mirror store licenses at a reduced price. You would need to contact ShopSite sales for information on this type of license.
