Missing Forum Messages

Postby Larry Bohen » Tue May 28, 2002 12:07 am

I am missing a large chunk of this forum's messages between the period
1/26/02 - 5/24/02.

What happened to them?

How can they be retrieved?

I'm having the same problem. I tried deleting then subscribing
again to the NG and still ended up with only messages since
05/23.

I've been trying to find info on that Authorize.net error
regarding first name and haven't had much success in identifying
what needs to be done to correct the error.

As far as I can determine, there is nothing wrong with the newsgroup.
All of the messages are there, and I use two newsreaders, Netscape and
Outlook Express.

Two of my co-workers who have never looked at the newsgroup before have
just done so, and they get all of the messages.

There is probably a problem with your reader, see if there is a way to
force it to download all headers that it hasn't downloaded before.
Sometimes by default they are set to only download a certain amount at a
time.

Thanks Loren ... as mentioned, I had even deleted the group and
resubscribed. My reader is set-up to download 300
headers/messages.

In reality though, I'd prefer to just get feedback on the
Authorize.Net - no first name - error and how to resolve that
problem.

Karen,

Check the settings in your Authorize.Net account. There is a section there
somewhere where you can check fields to be required fields. Uncheck the
First Name field. ShopSite does not send a separate First Name field.

If this is not the issue, then ask Authorize.Net if your account requires
more fields than a normal Authorize.net account.
