Use multiple shipping carriers?
Now that ShopSite has added USPS and FedEx, is it possible for us to use a conbination of UPS, FedEx or USPS through ShopSite (not using an add-on module)?

What if the merchant could choose multiple carriers but the rates from only one of them could display in the cart at a time, i.e. the shopper would initially see the rates from one default carrier (default chosen by the merchant), but they could choose to switch to see rates from one of the other carriers instead? Would that work for you?
Or do you think it would only be useful if all rates from all carriers would display to the shopper at the same time (in which case you may be stuck with the add-on modules, because contractually ShopSite, Inc. probably couldn't implement it this way)?

I don't understand why UPS, Fedex, etc. would not allow you to show the rates of other carriers. Every major e-commerce website has done it at some point or another.
Could you possibly just separate them by dividers that clearly indicated which carrier was which?
The main problem we're having, for an example, is that people see the shipping rates and leave because they're too high. If we could offer Fedex, USPS and DHL also, in addition to UPS, there's a good chance one of them will be cheaper.
If it showed expensive rates but made the user select to see more, I'm afraid it would still scare them away.
We're working with the carriers to try to get better rates, but they're not really wanting to give any major discounts. It's ridiculous how much we pay in shipping versus what a bigger company pays.
