ADD to Cart and View cart button graphics missing

Postby garya2 » Tue Feb 12, 2008 7:11 pm

Hi
I am a newbie. I beleive my hosting company overwrote my media folder contents when they where copying media to the store/media folder. Since they placed my images in this store/media folder the button graphics that was showing in the store/media/themesmedia folder is a broken link. Is there a way to restore the "themesmedia" folder and its contents via shopsite? Should I have them restore from a backup or can I work the magic from within shopsite some how?

Here is a link that is showing the broken ADD to cart buttons. The missing button GIF is called tab_burgundy_button_add.gif and it is a shopsite generated GIF.

I do not have access to anything in my store folder. My hosting company does not allow me to FTP to the store folder. So if this folder was deleted I would imagine they did it. How do I get the "themesmedia" folder back and its contents?

You should contact your hosting company and ask them to fix the problem. If they are uncertain as to how to do it ask them to contact the ShopSite support team for assistance.

The other option you would have is to find the button images and put them directly in the media folder and change your products to use those image instead of the one from the theme.

I note that the page you mention is created with Frontpage. Frontpage has a way of taking over the directory structure if you use it to put the pages on a web site. This could be what happened to your images if you used Frontpage to upload your page.

My return

Postby garya2 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 3:53 pm

The page was created with Front Page, but the permissions are set on the Store folder such that external applications have only read access. So I do not beleive that Front Page could have successfully deleted them. I have noticed that Frontpage wants to get rid of anything in my store/media folder since my local root web does not have a store folder and it sees a difference. I have decided to use FTP to avoid Frontpage complaints until I can get a newer Web Development application. The missing graphics files are present on all pages generated with ShopSite also. I told the server Support group to restore the /store/media/themesmedia folder for me. Your suggestion to use my own graphics and link it to my web page is an alternative, but it leaves all of the page template button graphics that shopsite provides missing and I am paying for an completely operational system.

Missing view cart and add cart buttons

Postby garya2 » Mon Feb 18, 2008 3:54 pm

My hosting company after 1 week finally replied to my support ticket on the "themesmedia" folder being missing. They said they did not have a backup, so they where considering the issue resolved. They totally ignored my suggestions. I reopened the ticket after speaking finally with a live person. I suggested they get a copy of the folder from another installation or contact Shopsite for help if they are not sure what to do. I was wondering if shopsite could call my hosting company and push them from your end since my end is running into a brick wall. The Support number is 877-287-5929. Support ticket number is 4546357.

I have forwarded your problem to the ShopSite account manager for your host. I asked him to contact your host to see what can be done to help you out.

My hosting company apparently closed my support ticket again because they took over a week to do anything about the problem the have already overwritten any backup they had of the folder. If your account manager does contact them he should indicate the problem in fact is not resolved. Thanks for the help.
