BEST SHOPSITE HOSTING

Post by jake12 »

Hello guys, I am from Singapore. I have a budget for a hosting thats about US$35 a month (not including SSL, etc) and I would like to to purchase ShopSite Pro upfront. Which of ShopSite hosting partners would you recommend to me?

Please advice me on ShopSite
Thanks a lot and I would really appreciate it if you could help me out here. :)

I use lexiconn. Don't skimp out and use a cheap host you will regret it I assure you. I've been through 5 hosts and have been very happy at lexiconn.

I use Hostcentric.com but am thinking of changing to Lexicon. If you don't need customer support then Hostcentric is real cheap, I pay around $400 a year for hosting and shopsite pro. They use shared servers so add ons can not be used, and their customer support is better not used as they can really screw things up.

Yeah lexiconn isn't cheap but if your serious about your business and need quick support they are really top notch. I feel like a commercial but i've pulled my hair out with other hosts and lexiconn answers my questions within 5 minutes and they are super knowledgable. I've also never had a downtime and lasted more than a few minutes and have probably only had 2 downtimes in the past year which is insane compaired to my last host on a shared server that had 30-60 min downtimes all the time.

Merchant Account for my country

Post by jake12 »

What would you guys recommend for my merchant account? I don't think I can use the one on Lexiconn since i am from Singapore. Would PayPal+2CheckOut be a good choice? Will those 2 work well for me? Is it easy to connect it to mastercard and the ShopSite Pro shopping cart? I will be selling apparels.

Best Hosting

I agree that you do not want to go with a budget hosting company. The company I am with is great at hosting a normal web site but they do not have a clue on how to manage ShopSite. I have ShopSite Manager with them and everytime they have gone to "fix" a problem they have fixed the problem but in the process caused one or two more. Most of the problems dealt with them having file permissions set so high that shopsite could not access its own files! After two weeks I still do not have a fully functional shopping cart. You cannot talk with the person working on your problem, only a chat window person who has no idea of the real status of the problem or if anyone is really working on it. If I was with Lexicon I would be in paradise compared to the aggravation this hosting company has caused me. Lexicon is about $39.95 more a month then what I am paying now. I guess you get what you pay for rings true with hosting companies. Shopsite is a great product but many hosting companies treat it as a add-on and do not realize than it needs a support staff that is knowledgable to properly install and maintain it.
