Preview Button is GREAT!

Loren,

I've been using v6 for a few weeks now and I can definitely say, that as
someone doing alot of editing, etc. the Preview button in the Pages section
is awesome! It's saved me bunches of time and has kept messed up pages from
going live before they're ready. Thanks!

Auth file corrupted?

Postby Kevin Sullivan » Wed May 15, 2002 2:03 pm

Hi

Does a store auth file change the id number? I noticed that I seem to be
getting different numbers at times when I test with order anywhere show
html.

Eg of show cart html:
4:00Pm
<a
href="http://www.vantelpearls.com/shopsite/sb/order.cgi?storeid=*1e45d44b8c0
a96acc8d0d5d6888f94a165&function=show">[View Cart]</a>

5:00PM

<a
href="http://www.vantelpearls.com/shopsite/sb/order.cgi?storeid=*16448148db0
19084068da85f6f&function=show">[View Cart]</a>

2 different numbers in the above sample.

This is the message I get, but only sometimes when I test the cart:

Error verifying
/virtualhosts/vantelpearls.com/www/shopsite/sb/16448148db019084068da85f6f&fu
nction=show:BAD INPUT.auth

This store may not be authorized to run ShopSite software. Please contact
the merchant or webmaster.

Solutions:
1) If the file has been modified or corrupted copy the original store.auth
file from the install directory to
16448148db019084068da85f6f&function=show:BAD INPUT.auth in the store data
directory.

2) If solution 1 does not work, contact the vendor that sold you ShopSite
software to get a valid auth file.

Details:
Unable to find auth file for 16448148db019084068da85f6f&function=show:BAD
INPUT.

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,

Since ShopSite v5 the storeid has been encrypted by ShopSite when generated for
URL's (Publish, OrderAnywhere, Associates, etc.). Each time the encrypted
storeid is generated by ShopSite it will appear different, but it will always
map back to your storeid. You can also replace the encrypted storeid with your
plain-text storeid, ShopSite is backwards compatible like that and will accept
the plain-text version as well.

If you are only occasionally getting this error but most of the time it works
(exact same button), I would say that you have a server issue, something weird
going on with the server libraries.

If you are getting all the time but just from certain buttons, then it would be
nice to see what those particular button URL's look like.
