Most websites take quite a while to draw any traffic at all, so if you will be ready in a short amount of time I wouldn't worry to much about it.

However if you really don't want anyone finding anything on your site I would make a copy of the main page (index.html) for your store so you have a backup copy and then modify the page to have a "Coming Soon" look and not include links to any other pages in your store on it. That way if someone does come to the site they will see some information about the new store but won't be able to get to detailed pages.

Once you're ready to make the whole site live you can replace your Coming Soon page with the original main page with links to your other store pages.

If you published your pages then the pages are live on the internet. However for many merchants their ShopSite store is in a subdirectory of their actual website. For example their store may be at mydomain.com/store. If this is the case, and you do not have any pages linking to your /store pages, then it shouldn't be a problem and I wouldn't worry about it. However if you are linking to your ShopSite store pages, or if your store is in your root directory, such as mydomain.com, you may want to either delete the pages, or upload an 'under construction' page as your home page.\

Within ShopSite you can delete pages, but if you do not want to delete the pages the only way to remove them from the server, from being live, is to login through FTP and delete them from the server. Note that deleting the pages from the server does not delete the pages within ShopSite. Next time you publish your store pages within ShopSite they will be placed back on the server and yet again be live.

On your opening page you would need to make sure that it is your index.html page. You can go to Pages > click on your opening page > Edit Page Content and scroll down to the Advanced Editing section. Make sure that in the File Name field it has 'index.html.' Once you publish you can view your home page and refresh your browser and see if the changes have taken affect.

If you have FTP access from your hosting provider you can login through FTP and just delete the page files from the server. This will not affect the page information in ShopSite.
