Option Menus ;n Not Working

The ;n is not working when I put it on the pull down menu. No error message pops up. For example:

(Please Select Color);n
Red
Blue
Green

If none is selected, "(Please Select Color) " shows up in my shopping cart. The error message never pops up. Is there a switch I'm missing?

The check for ;n on order options is only done when going from the shopping cart screen to the checkout screen. It is not done on the add to cart. The shoppper could add an item to the cart without selecting an option but they would not be able to finalize the order until they had selected an option.

It allows me to go to Checkout and finalize the order. I have the switch turned off where the shopper cannot modify options once it's been added to the cart.

If you have the shopping cart configured to not allow changing the order options in the cart then the check is not performed in the cart so you could be able to checkout without selecting an option. Again the check is only done in the shopping cart and not when adding the product to the cart so you will need to allow the shopper to make changes in the cart inorder to have the ;n option be functional.
