Internal Server error

Postby tbroush » Tue Jan 22, 2008 9:06 pm

My site has been up for awhile, I started to add more products and I ket getting a string constant error, so I could not create or copy products. So I decide to re upload the products.cgi file and now I'm getting the 500 Internal server Error when I click on products within the admin panel, can anyone give me any ideas on how I can get this resolve.

Thanks

Carlos

.Mmake sure that the products.cgi file has the correct permissions and owner. Also if you uploaded it by ftp make sure that it was uploaded in binary mode. Some ftp clients automatically use ascii mode for anything with a .cgi extenstion but ShopSite cgis are compiled binary code so need to be transferred in binary mode.

Make sure that the version of the products.cgi is the same as the version of all other cgis and libraries in the store or you could end up with problems. Also make sure that it is for the correct operating system.

Thanks for responding however I have done evertyhing that you recommended and same thing, I set the permission to 755 for the cgi-bin/ss folders and also the file product.cgi and re uploaded the file in binary mode.

If your host can't fix the issue they should escalate the problem to ShopSite for help. If you are the host and can't fix it you should probably purchase a "Individual Incident" support option directly from ShopSite.
