When I preview my site by clicking on the "Preview" button in Pages, I see one thing, but when I click the publish tab I see something totally different, not the same template that i'm using. Why is that?

It could be that your browser has the real page cached so it is using the cached version instead of the real one. Try forcing a reload of the page by holding the shift key down while clicking the reload button (or right click and click reload or refresh) or try closing all browser window and then see if the page loads the same.

If you make a change to the text or image on a page does that show in both views? It may be that you changed the page filename and you are looking at an old filename and not the new one.
