PLEASE HELP!! Continue to Checkout button

For some reason my continue checkout button is sending customers back to the homepage instead of to the checkout screen. How can I fix this, Thank you.

Is your 'continue checkout' button a broken image? If so, specify a different/correct image or switch it to a text submit button and see if that helps. The shopping cart button settings are at the bottom of the Preferences -> Store Text -> Shopping Cart menu.

Thanks Loren, no a broken link was not the problem. All the links on my shopping cart page are going straight to the home page. I have not found a way to change where the buttons link though. Thanks

I sort of figured out what was happening. The code that I put into the Surcharge text box in commerce setup/shopping cart/shopping cart screen was screwing with where the buttons would point for some strange reason.
