Credit cards

Postby 8900200 » Fri Nov 09, 2007 3:46 pm

I see that the CCs that can be captured are Amex, Visa, MC. I can also setup some custom paymet types. My client needs to capture

Visa, American Express, Mastercard and
Cartasi, Eurocard, and EDC maestro, but these last 3 are secondary since most of their online clients are American.

Is there any way to collect all 6 of these types. It helps that they don't do online processing of these. They simply capture and process in house.

Thanks

ShopSite 9 adds Solo, Switch, Delta, Visa Electron/UK, JCB, Maestro card types to the list that you can select. Not all payment gateways will use these cards, they were mainly added for the Protx gateway.

You could set up a Generic Payment method and name it Other Credit card type. and have the 4 available fields named Card type, Card holder name, Card Number, expiration date.

Note that this would mean that the shopper could put in something like "Sears card " or some other odd ball name. There would be no validation to make sure the card number was valid. You would have to watch for these types of things before you process the order and send the goods.

Actually, you should still be able to use these new credit card payment types in v9.0 if you are in Manual processing mode. The only time they will be disabled is if you are using one of the payment gateways (i.e. any gateway besides Protx) that doesn't support these card types.
