Help with configuration file error message

Postby dcashmer » Wed Nov 07, 2007 5:52 am

Hello,
I was updating some product descriptions and after I tried to apply the changes, I received the following error message:

'Missing token (datadir) in configuration file (dcashmer.aa)'

My hosting service that provided shopsite is unable to help. I have been using shopsite for over 2 years and have never experienced this problem. Now I can't even log into shopsite. I believe I am running shopsite 7 or 7.1.

What do I need to do to resolve this error? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Sounds like you ran out of disk space and the file was truncated so the token was lost.

The first thing to do is make sure you have enough disk space on the server. Once you have enough disk space restore the file from a backup version.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your reply. The shopping cart is hosted with my hosting service and it appears that I have plenty of disk space remaining. In looking at the dcashmer.aa file, it's now empty. I don't have a backup. Do you know what this file is supposed to contain?

Thank you for your help.

The file contains all the path and url settings for your store so it is not a simple task to recreate the file. Check with your host and see if they have a server backup that the file can be restored from. If that fails then you should have your host contact ShopSite support for assistance in recreating the file. If your host can't or won't do that then you should purchase an Individual support incident from ShopSite to have them fix it if they can. They would need server access in order to work on it though. Support incidents can be purchase at http://www.shopsite.com/support_pricing.html
