It would be nice if we could have a section on the page to display the last 5 items that the visitor viewed. I have seen this on many websites recently and, as a shopper, it is very appealing. I have also seen a variation of it that displays several "similiar" items as a suggestion to the viewer.

The recently viewed items could be done with using PHP sessions. As each product is viewed, it's name, image, link, etc could be stored and then displayed in a little sidebar or wherever else.

That's a good idea but wouldn't I have to change my pages to .php instead of .html? I have great placement in the search engines and I wouldn't want to do anything that would "mess" with that.
Thanks for the suggestion though...I will think about how I can do it.

No, not at all. As long as your host allows you to create (or edit existing) htaccess files you can run PHP in files with an html extension.

Here's a tutorial: http://www.desilva.biz/php/phpinhtml.html

It's a very quick change to make.

Sounds easy enough...THANKS for the tip. I am a novice at php but I have been wanting a project to use it with and test my abilities. I guess I will be busy for a while! Thanks again.

The Cross Sell feature to show suggested/similar/cross-sell products on a per-product basis was added to ShopSite Pro in v9.0. All built-in ShopSite shopping cart templates support this feature, but if you are using a custom shopping cart template or you also want to have the cross-sell products shown on the More Info Pages, then you will need to add that to your custom templates.

To add Cross Sell products to More Info Pages see:

To add Cross Sell products to the shopping cart see:
