Froogle feed error

Postby psldesigns » Wed Sep 05, 2007 4:08 am

Set all the fields needed for the froogle feed, uploaded (ftp) seemed to go fine (so the store said). Received the following message from Google this AM:

It looks like you've sent us a file in a format that Google Base does not
support: HTML. Our system is currently able to accommodate only tab-delimited text (.txt) and four types of XML (.xml) files. You can also submit a .zip or .gz compressed version of the above formats. Please read the following for detailed information on the file types we will accept:

http://base.google.com/base/format.html

Please resubmit your bulk upload after you've saved it in one of our supported formats. We'll notify you if we need you to make any additional formatting corrections. Otherwise, we'll send you an email to let you know that your bulk upload has been approved.

Why would SS send in a non-compatible format? Do I have a setting wrong someplace?

Thanks!

This shows that the feed file is in Atom 1.0 format, which is one of the 4 supported XML formats for Google Base. So Google is screwed up. Try it again, sometimes Google Base will find imaginary problems with a feed file one day but accept it the next. If it still doesn't work you will have to try to contact Google and ask them what specifically they find to be the issue with the feed XML file, since their error message looks very vague.
