CyberCash from ShopSite 5.0 to ShopSite 6.0

Postby Flatlander » Fri Apr 12, 2002 2:07 pm

I want to upgrade a ShopSite store from 5.0 to 6.0. The 5.0 store is using
CyberCash for credit card processing. VeriSign bought CyberCash but all the
setup information is still in the CyberCash Payment section (not in the
PayFlow section) of the ShopSite 5.0 store. In fact the ShopSite 5.0 store
still shows CyberCash on it's receipts and e-mail order notices.

Does anything special need to be done when upgrading to ShopSite 6.0
relative to CyberCash? Will 6.0 automatically keep working with CyberCash?
It's running in a Linux box.

Thanks,

Wayne

Even though VeriSign bought out CyberCash, you should still continue to use the
CyberCash account information in the CyberCash setup section of ShopSite. To
switch over to VeriSign, you would need to get a new VeriSign account (at least
this is what I have heard from VeriSign).

Note that VeriSign is leaving the CyberCash gateway intact, but are not doing
any new development on it nor are they signing up new merchants to use it. So it
will continue to work in future versions of ShopSite, but will not have new
features add like CVV2 that the other processors have.

Loren,

Thanks. The CyberCash information is in the CyberCash setup section of
ShopSite 5.0. If I upgrade to ShopSite 6.0 will CyberCash continue to work?
I tried a Demo 6.0 store a while back and it didn't seem to have a setup
section for CyberCash.

Thanks,

Wayne

Yes, it will continue to work. You will not see CyberCash in a new v6 demo
because the option is not presented unless you had been using CyberCash prior to
an upgrade. If it were to show up, then new merchants would be confused at to
what their gateway options really were, and would also wonder why ShopSite was
presenting them with a gateway they couldn't sign up for.

Loren,

Thanks for your prompt help. We'll proceed with the upgrade to ShopSite 6.0
and understand that it will continue to function with the ShopSite 5.0
CyberCash setup information.
