New Coupon Type

We'd like to have a new coupon type so we can offer a free gift with purchase. We'd like the customer to enter a coupon code and have ShopSite add a certain sku to the order at $0. For instance, if coupon code 12345 was entered and the cart contains a qualifying item (ie. an Ugg boot), ShopSite would add sku #freegift to the order at $0 so we would see that the free gift (ie. an Ugg care kit) needed shipped.

I think the feature you are looking for is our Reward program found under Merchandising> Reward Program>
Reward programs allow you to offer incentives to customers for frequent or large orders. The rewards can be for the same products purchased (buy 10 get 1 free), or they can be for different product (buy a pair of shoes, get a free pair of socks).

That is one way to do what I'm talking about but there are two issues we have:
1. The rewards program would be available to anyone who purchases the item. We want this "reward" to only be available to people who have the coupon code
2. In order to set up a promotion in Google's Merchant Center, they require that the promotion use a coupon code AND that the promotion not be already available on the website without a coupon code.
