Support for Web P Images

We're being advised to convert our product images to Web P format because they're smaller and more efficient that .jpg. The Google Merchant Center is now monitoring website speeds and apparently they intend to punish / reward sites based on that metric. It doesn't appear that ShopSite is able to resize webp images. It would be great if ShopSite would add that support.
