Digital Downloads as gifts

When a customer purchases a digital dowload as a gift, they do not have the option to "Ship" the gift by email. Plus, the gift recipent does not receive the gift message unless the customer emails the receipt with download link to the recipient.

Having he ability to enter a Ship To email for digital downloads purchased as gifts would be useful.

It sounds like you are explaining what the gift certificate feature already does. When you purchase a gift certificate, you (as the customer) specify the email address you would like that gift certificate sent to. ShopSite will send an email to that person with the gift certificate information as well as the message that the customer included.
