I've inherited a ShopSite site, and am looking to customize the markup coming from

It's got a bunch of markup in there that I'd like to modify. I'd guess there's some sort of template that I haven't located.

Can anyone help me figure out how to modify the markup coming out of ShopSiteMessages?

You can't modify the actual code that is output by that tag, only the look of it. You will want to change it using CSS (or if you want to change it even more drastically you can use another language such as JavaScript).
