Page Links Levels

Postby tmlogo » Sun Jan 22, 2012 9:44 am

I see there are only 2 levels (deep) you can link pages under Navigation. Is there an easy way to add more levels?

You can do 4 levels on the top navigation, but only 2 levels on the side and footer navigation menus. If you want to do 4 levels on the side navigation and 2 levels on the top, you could (with a custom template) use the top navigation on the side and use one of the side navigations on the top.

Once you have the main tabs setup, highlight the name of a tab then click "add," this will add a sub link. Below is a video tutorial on setting up the navigation menus.

What version of ShopSite are you using? It will be in the footer of the page when you click on the ShopSite tab in the backoffice. It will be something liek

The Global navigation menus were add in ShopSite 10sp2 which is 2 versions newer than the version you have. The Left, Right and Bottom navigation were added in ShopSite 11. So to add the built in navigation you would need to have your store upgraded to a newer version.

Before those version the Page links were available for navigation on store pages. On product moreinfo pages any links had to be hardcoded in the template or an include file that would be included on the page/moreinfo page. There are probably a few older posts here in the forum describing how you could implement either of those methods.

How would I go about upgrading to a newer version, and how would that effect what I have already created?

You would need to contact the ISP who hosts your store and have them upgrade it.

Upgrading will add new functionality and new features. We try very hard to insure that the upgrade process does not break existing stores. However there is always the posibility of something going wrong so we strongly recommend that you make a backup before the upgrade is attempted.
