Zip Code Change Error

Hi,

(I'm in pest mode today).

When a shopper changes their shipping zip code on the address page (cart
step 2), it prompts an alert that the zip code has changed and they need
to go back and re-calculate shipping on the first cart page. I think its
already been mentioned that this is awkward and could use improvement.
I agree with that, but would like to add an additional thought...

it seems even changing from zip to zip+4 or vice versa prompts the "zip
code" has changed message. Can the script that validates the zip code
be modified to only check the first 5 characters, so a change from zip
to zip+4 (which really wouldn't change any costs or shipping method
availability anyway) would not prompt the message and extra work for the
customer?

Just curious.

Also, I looked and looked..where do I change the formatting of the
yellow error box that comes up at the top of the cart page to indicate
this error?
