What Features does Shopsite lack, which you wish it had?

I am considering switching our store from Yahoo Store to Shopsite, and so
I'm wondering what features Shopsite lacks which we may not have thought of
and could run into later.

Here are some of the features we currently rely on in Yahoo Store. It would
be great to know which ones we can get with Shopsite and which we can't, and
also which other features you guys wish Shopsite had which it doesn't:

Features of Yahoo Store which we rely on:
- When viewing an order, ability to see:
-- IP address of customer
-- referring URL
-- whether it is a repeat customer (with links to the previous orders for
that customer)
-- payment method
-- card number
-- approval status and AVS status
-- shipping status (and tracking number, if shipped)

- Ability to search for orders by partial name, email address, credit card
number, etc.

- In reports for any given period:
-- total pageviews
-- total unique users
-- orders / user
-- total $ of orders
-- number of orders
-- number of products / order
-- monthly totals
-- graphs
-- number of carts
-- orders/cart (cart abandonment)
-- click trails
-- referrers
-- orders for any given referrer (with a link to the orders)

- Ability to do a manual authorize, charge or refund (but maybe this could
be done in a web-based gateway like Authorize.net?)

- Ability to restrict which countries can be selected as shipping and
billing addresses (so that we can avoid accepting orders from countries
which have very high fraud rates).

- Ability to modify orders in the following ways:
-- change shipping options (and cost)
-- give a discount
-- add or delete items
-- combine orders

If Shopsite doesn't do some of these but you know of a work-around or add-in
program that will do it, please let me know that too.

Thanks for your help and comments!

If you absolutely have to do all of your order processing online, then
there are a few features below you probably won't be able to do.
However, if you could download orders to a PC and use the StoneEdge
Order Manager you could do so much more... www.stoneedge.com

It does just about anything you can think of in the way of fulfillment,
order and customer management, backorders, drop-shipping, inventory
management, and more. We've been using it for several years and
absolutely love it. I've never seen an online system with as many
features or benefits.

Additionally, I don't feel that it's good security to leave orders and
customer information on a production web server. They may be encrypted
but I still feel better downloading them and deleting them off the server.

How about the other features I mentioned? Any comment on those?

We really don't want to do order processing on a client PC.

AFAIK, the following are not natively available within ShopSite:

- When viewing an order, ability to see:
-- whether it is a repeat customer (with links to the previous orders
-- shipping status (and tracking number, if shipped)

- Ability to search for orders by partial name, email address, credit

- In reports for any given period:
-- orders / user
-- number of products / order
-- number of carts
-- orders/cart (cart abandonment)
-- click trails

Someone that works at ShopSite may correct me if I'm wrong...

I did try it, but a 24 hour demo is way too short a time to get a test store
running. I need at least a couple of weeks.

Can that be arranged?

Thanks.

Why not just lease a fully functional store from somewhere like Lexiconn
or Pair.com and test with all your own variables and specifics to your
site. Then if you don't like it or it doesn't work out for you, you
haven't purchased an expensive license. You can lease a Pro store for as
little as $99/month including hosting.

could

be done in a web-based gateway like Authorize.net?)

- Ability to restrict which countries can be selected as shipping and
billing addresses (so that we can avoid accepting orders from
countries
which have very high fraud rates).

- Ability to modify orders in the following ways:
-- change shipping options (and cost)
-- give a discount
-- add or delete items
-- combine orders

If Shopsite doesn't do some of these but you know of a work-around or

add-in

program that will do it, please let me know that too.

Thanks for your help and comments!
