Win XP Update Bug?

Has anyone else had this problem?

A customer reported a problem earlier this weekend as follows:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your website has some serious flaws. It keeps hanging without any
error message. I just completed an order (I think).
After clicking on "confirm" it is hung on "opening page
https://www.mlcswoodworking.com/cgi-mlc ... you.cgi....

I have no indication if the order went through or not.

I had several similar hang-ups while shopping on the site. After
ordering one item, I saw it in the shopping cart. I clicked on
"continue shopping".
After I clicked on "order" for another item, it hung for an inordinate
amount of time. I closed the Internet Explorer, opened a new copy, went
to your website, and clicked on the shopping cart.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He did his own research troubleshooting and discovered the following:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have identified the problem which kept me from ordering from your
website. It is Microsoft Security Update for Windows XP (KB839645). By
removing this update from my computer, I was able to quickly and
successfully order the router bits I wanted. I also was able to log
onto Ebay, which Ialso was having a similar failure.

The update was installed routinely as part of the Windows Update service
from Microsoft in the last few days. As more people download the latest
security patches from Microsoft, your potential customers may encounter
the same problem.
--------------------------------------------------------------

My up-to-date Win XP PC with all patches installed still can place an
order fine. However, a noteworthy point in the update reads as follows:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This update refines a change made in Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1,
which prevents Web pages that are loaded while a user is in the Internet
zone from navigating to the Local Machine zone. This change was
introduced to mitigate the effects of potential new cross domain
vulnerabilities. The changes introduced in this update are additional
enhancements of the Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 restrictions.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I've written back to him for additional info on his settings. Any
thoughts?

Thanks for your help.
